Lindo St. Angel

Lindo St. Angel is the VP of the Hardware organization, reporting to Dave Limp. He joined Lab126 in 2010, has managed multi-disciplined engineering teams working on new consumer device programs including technology roadmaps, product architecture, prototypes, and product development. Over the years, his charter has grown, running all of Hardware which includes Sustaining, Product Integrity, Wireless & Connectivity Solutions, Concept Engineering, Operational Excellence, and Technology teams (Audio, Camera, Display, Platform, Architecture, etc).

 

Before taking over leadership of Hardware at Amazon Lab126, Lindo was the VP of Engineering at PrairieComm, Inc. where he was responsible for cellular 2G and 3G baseband IC and protocol stack development along with complete type-approvable reference designs. The company was then acquired by Freescale Semiconductor where Lindo worked as a Senior Engineering Director leading large global research and development teams. He has also worked as a consultant in the wireless and semiconductor marketplace.

 

Lindo holds a BSEE from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, an MSEE from the University of California, Irvine, and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

 

Outside of work, you can find Lindo spending time hacking projects; his current one involves a food processor. On a different note, he loves to get outdoors every chance he gets whether that be cycling, mountain biking, or participating in challenges that tests his limits like GORUCK.

 

Another passion of Lindo’s is giving back to the community. He is currently working on initiatives to aid future engineers. He is also developing an apprenticeship program to provide experience to adults who want to learn about technology and innovation. Lindo also volunteers his time at City Team Ministries where he teaches job skills to the mens program to eventually return this at-risk population back into the workforce. Lindo and Amazon are also sponsors of the Tech Challenge with the Tech Museum in San Jose. This program assists youth from diverse and low income populations who want to learn more about STEM and do not have access to these specialized programs. Lindo and his wife are also significant contributors to the San Jose Art Museum.
